Sound isn't playing

Browsers block sound until they're allowed to play it. Here's the fix for each kind of player.

Web browsers don't start sound by themselves unless the device allows it. If a screen is silent, first check the TV isn't muted and its volume is up, and that the screen's Sound tab isn't muted. If the Sound tab says the browser is blocking sound, use the fix for your player:

Still nothing?

  • Check a music playlist is chosen on the Sound tab, that Play music covers the current time, and that you published.
  • For a video's own sound, check the video has sound turned on in the playlist. Videos in playlist zones always play silently.
  • On a Raspberry Pi, the sound goes to the HDMI port closest to the power socket.

Still need a hand?
