Set up your first screen
Connect a TV to SignBlink in about ten minutes, with any player you have.
Every TV needs a player: something that runs SignBlink and plugs into the TV. You can start with the TV's own web browser and add a permanent player later, without starting over.
For a guided setup, choose Continue guided setup on Home or Screen setup guide in your account menu. It walks through choosing a player, entering its pairing code, choosing content, publishing, and waiting for the TV to confirm it is showing the update. You can leave and return to the guide.
New accounts created with a password must confirm their email first. Your free trial starts when you verify, so waiting for the email does not use up trial time. Google sign-in verifies the address for you.
What you need
- A TV with an HDMI port, and internet where the TV is.
- A player. A Fire TV Stick is the easiest; a Raspberry Pi or Windows mini PC suits screens that run all day. See Which player should I use?.
- SignBlink open on your phone or computer.
Connect the TV
- In SignBlink, go to Screens → Add screen.
- On the TV, start the player:
- Fire TV or Android TV: install the SignBlink app (Fire TV Stick and Android TV).
- Raspberry Pi: run the one-line setup (Raspberry Pi).
- Windows: install the SignBlink app (Windows PCs and mini PCs).
- Anything else: open
app.signblink.com/playin the TV's web browser (Use a smart TV's web browser).
- The TV shows a 6-character code. Type it into Code shown on the TV, or scan the QR code on the TV with your phone.
- Give the screen a name your team will recognize, like "Front counter", and choose how the TV is mounted (landscape or portrait).
- Choose what it should play. If you don't have anything yet, that's fine: it shows a tidy standby card until you do.
That's it. The screen appears under Screens with a green Online badge.
Online means the player is connected. The guide finishes after you have assigned content, published it, and the player confirms that published version is on screen. A completed download alone does not finish setup. If screen hours have turned it off, use Wake for one hour in the guide.
