My screen didn't update

Changed something but the TV still shows the old version? Work through these checks in order.

Almost every "it didn't update" comes down to one of these. Check them in order.

1. Did you publish?

Changes are drafts until you publish. If the screen shows Changes not live on the Screens page, open it and choose Publish changes. See Publishing — getting changes onto your screens.

2. Does the screen actually play what you edited?

This is the most common surprise. Open the screen and go to What plays: check which main playlist it uses, and whether a time slot is playing a different playlist right now. Then check that playlist contains the design or item you changed.

When you publish from the designer, SignBlink warns you if a screen doesn't show that design and offers to add it.

3. Is the item scheduled or paused?

In the playlist, check the item isn't Paused, and that any Show only at certain times dates include today. See Show an item only for a while.

4. Is the screen online?

An Offline screen can't receive updates; it gets them as soon as it reconnects. See A screen shows as offline.

5. Is it still downloading?

Receiving update means the player is downloading. Big videos take longer on slow Wi-Fi. The screen switches over once everything has arrived.

6. Is it waiting its turn?

The new item shows when the playlist reaches it. To see the screen right now, take a screenshot from its page. See See what a screen is showing.

Still stuck?

Choose ⋯ → Restart player. If it still shows the old content after a minute, contact support with the screen's name.
