Use a smart TV's web browser
The fastest way to try SignBlink — no extra hardware, just the browser app on your TV.
Many smart TVs have a web browser built in, which makes them the quickest way to try SignBlink with nothing to buy. TV browsers usually can't open by themselves when the TV turns on, so for a screen that runs every day a permanent player is better.
- Open the TV's web browser. Samsung: the Internet app. LG: Web Browser. Other TVs: look for "Browser" in the apps list.
- Go to
app.signblink.com/play. Typing on a remote is slow, so bookmark the page once it opens; next time it's two clicks away. - The TV shows a 6-character code. Enter it in SignBlink under Screens → Add screen.
- Select the full-screen button on the player, or the browser's full-screen option.
Moving to a permanent player later
When you're ready for an always-on screen, plug in a Fire TV Stick, Raspberry Pi or Windows mini PC and enter its code under Replace the player on the screen's Player tab. Your playlists and schedules stay. See Move a screen to a new TV or player.
If something isn't right
It shows a new code after the TV was off. Some TV browsers forget websites when switched off. Enter the new code under Replace the player on the screen's Player tab. A permanent player avoids this.
Videos don't play, or the page is slow. Older TV browsers struggle with video. Photos and designs work best; for video, a stick or Pi is better.
