See what a screen is showing

Live previews in SignBlink, and real screenshots from the TV itself.

There are two ways to check a screen without walking over to it.

The preview

Open the screen. The Overview tab plays a live preview of exactly what the screen is set to show, using the same player the TV runs.

  • Published shows what the TV has now.
  • Preview changes (or Draft) shows your latest edits before you publish them.

A screenshot from the TV

On the Overview tab, choose Take a screenshot. SignBlink asks the player for a picture of what's on the TV at that moment, and it appears in a few seconds. Select it to see it bigger.

  • Players running the SignBlink TV app or the SignBlink app for Windows take real screenshots of the whole screen, videos included.
  • Players in a web browser capture the page, so videos and YouTube may show as a still or a blank box.

If the player doesn't answer, it may have just gone offline; try again in a minute. If SignBlink says the player needs a restart to take screenshots, choose Restart there: older versions update when they restart.
