What a screen's status means

Online, Receiving update, Offline, Not connected, and the "Changes not live" and "Needs attention" badges.

Every screen on the Screens page shows a status, and a line underneath saying what it's doing right now.

StatusWhat it means
Online (green)The player is checking in and showing what you published. The line underneath names what's on screen now.
Receiving update (blue)You just published. The player is downloading the new files ("Downloading update · 3 of 8 files") and switches over as soon as it has everything.
Offline (red)The player hasn't checked in for a while. It's probably still playing what it had, but SignBlink can't reach it. See A screen shows as offline.
Not connectedThe screen exists in SignBlink but no player is linked to it yet. Enter a code on its Player tab.
Scheduled off / Screensaver / After hoursThe screen is outside its weekly screen hours. It resumes normally at opening; see Screen hours and screensavers.

Badges

  • Changes not live: you've edited something this screen plays but haven't published it yet. See Publishing — getting changes onto your screens.
  • Needs attention: something needs a look, such as a file that couldn't be processed, or a player that should be updated. Open the screen to see what.
  • Wall: the screen is part of a video wall. See Video walls.

The standby card

A screen with nothing to play right now shows a tidy standby card with your logo, instead of a blank screen. That happens when its main playlist is empty or set to None, or when a schedule leaves a gap. The status line says "Showing the standby card".

How you know a TV really has your update

When you publish, each player downloads everything first, then switches over and reports back. The screen only shows Online with your new content once the TV has confirmed it, so a green screen in SignBlink means the TV really is showing your latest changes.
