Show Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud on a screen

Connect a calendar once and its events appear on your screens by themselves — repeating events, changes and cancellations included.

A calendar widget can show events from Google Calendar, Outlook or Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud, and most booking, class and school systems. You connect the calendar once with its private link; after that, new events, changes and cancellations reach your screens by themselves within a few minutes.

Every calendar app can publish a calendar as an iCal (or ICS) link.

Google Calendar

  1. On a computer, open Google Calendar. Beside the calendar under My calendars, choose ⋮ → Settings and sharing.
  2. Scroll to Integrate calendar and copy Secret address in iCal format.

Outlook or Microsoft 365

  1. In Outlook on the web, open Settings → Calendar → Shared calendars.
  2. Under Publish a calendar, choose the calendar and Can view all details, then Publish.
  3. Copy the ICS link.

Apple iCloud

  1. On iCloud.com or a Mac, open Calendar and choose the share button beside the calendar.
  2. Turn on Public Calendar and copy the link (it starts with webcal://).

Booking, class and school systems often have a Subscribe, Calendar feed or iCal link. Anything that works in Google or Apple Calendar works here.

2. Connect it to a calendar widget

  1. In the designer, add a calendar from Widgets → Calendars (or start from a Calendars & schedules template) and choose a layout like Upcoming events or Month calendar.
  2. Under Connected calendars, choose Connect, paste the link and choose Connect. SignBlink reads it straight away and tells you how many events it found.
  3. Tick the calendars this widget should show. You can show several calendars together, each in its own color.
  4. Publish.

Connected calendars belong to your account, so you only connect a calendar once and can then tick it in any design. Events you type into the widget yourself still show alongside them.

Good to know

  • Screens check connected calendars every few minutes. Events show in each screen's own time zone.
  • Repeating events, one-off changes to a repeating event, and cancelled events all show correctly.
  • Only the title, time and location of each event are shown; descriptions and guest lists aren't sent to screens.
  • If a calendar stops working (for example, its secret link was reset), it's marked in red under Connected calendars. Choose Edit and paste the new link.
