Screen hours and screensavers
Set weekly hours for each screen, then turn it off or show a clock or design outside those hours.
Open a screen, choose What plays, and find Screen hours.
- Turn on Use screen hours.
- Choose the days and opening and closing times. The screen follows its own time zone, including daylight saving.
- Choose what happens outside those hours: Turn off, Clock screensaver, or Show a design.
- Choose Save screen hours. This applies immediately; publishing is separate.
A closing time earlier than the opening time runs into the following day. Matching times mean open for 24 hours on that day. At least one day must be selected.
Use Turn on for 1 hour for a temporary override, then End temporary wake to return to the schedule. Emergency alerts and support performance tests also wake the player while they are showing.
Set hours for a group
On Screens, select a group, open its actions menu, and choose Screen hours. Applying hours replaces the weekly hours for every screen in that group. Each screen still uses its own time zone.
What “Turn off” does
- SignBlink for Windows 1.1.0 or later: monitors sleep after every active SignBlink screen on that PC is scheduled off. A clock, after-hours design, emergency alert or another playing screen keeps the monitors on. The PC stays awake to receive updates and wake the monitors at opening time.
- SignBlink TV 1.1.0 or later: the app dims its display, releases its keep-awake setting, and schedules a wake alarm. Android and Fire OS can limit exact wake times or bringing an app to the front; the device's permissions and power settings affect this.
- Browser players: show a black screen. Browser access cannot switch a TV's physical power off. A Pi or browser player does not gain HDMI power control from this setting.
Install the updated native app to get its power controls. Physical monitors, TV firmware and input settings can affect waking; check one closing and opening cycle on your own device before relying on it.
Hours are saved on the player and continue through a network outage. SignBlink suppresses expected sleep-related offline warnings and gives the player time to wake at opening. An offline clock or design screensaver still receives normal connection monitoring.
